Aston Martin Returns To Formula 1 in Red Bull Partnership

By Steve Aibel, Senior F1 Writer

In what has long been rumored, Aston Martin has returned to Formula 1 in a partnership with Red Bull Racing. The luxury British car maker is partnering with the team to create a ground breaking Aston Martin hypercar and increase brand awareness. The partnership will combine the advanced aerodynamic understanding of Formula 1 and the design DNA of Aston Martin with intentions to produce the ultimate supercar.

Red Bull will showcase the Aston Martin wings logo on the RB-12  during the 2016 season. This will be the first time since 1960 that Aston Martin has been involved in Formula 1. We now have the definitive reason why the rumored deal between Aston Martin and Mercedes that was to see them rebrand Force India did not happen.

Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said, “Formula One offers the ultimate global stage to build wider awareness of the Aston Martin brand. However, this partnership will deliver even more than that when the hypercar that Aston Martin and Adrian Newey are in the process of developing hits the road.”
