During a routine test, it was discovered by Tifft’s doctors that he had a low-grade giloma, a brain tumor. Tifft underwent surgery to remove the non-cancerous tumor. The Drive Sober 200 at Dover International Speedway looked as if it would be an up-hill battle with several NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars in the Xfinity Series race. The Dirt Modified and Sprint Car standout made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Eldora Speedway earlier this year. In the second heat race, Friesen started second and finished third.
