By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor The career resurgence for Trevor Bayne continues in 2016, as he had an incredible race in Sunday’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Things have been looking up for Bayne heading into this week. He had recorded top-20 finishes at Las Vegas and California. Then a couple of weeks later in Texas, Bayne led 12 laps and was on his way to a top-10 finish, until his pit strategy was foiled by an untimely caution. Bayne would finish 15th that night. By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor I think the career of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s favorite restrictor plate car — Amelia — is officially over. The car, which was crashed hard in the season-opening Daytona 500, was repaired over the last few months by Earnhardt’s Hendrick Motorsports team and Sunday the car made it’s return to the track in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. However, on lap 50, Amelia did the same thing that it did in February. When Earnhardt was navigating traffic in front of and beside him, the car broke loose.Read More
By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor On most weeks in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, only the super teams (such as Hendrick Motorsports, Team Penske, Joe Gibbs Racing and a few others) should really expect to end their day in victory lane. In order to win at intermediate 1.5-mile speedways it takes teams of engineers, and millions of dollars just to finish inside the top-10. Talladega though, is a different animal. Instead of gobs of resources, it just takes an unrelenting will to win and incredible intestinal fortitude to conquer the day atRead More

By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor It’s been an unexpected break out year so far for Blake Koch and the newly formed Kaulig Racing team. Koch, who spent his first five seasons with under funded organizations, has scored both of his career NASCAR Xfinity Series top-10 finishes this season, one of which was recorded this past weekend at Richmond International Raceway when he finished a career-best eighth. It’s been a refreshing year to say the least, and one that many in the industry are happy to see from the 30-year-old driver.Read More
By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor One of the least safe options that teams have been able to employ in the history of NASCAR is officially off the table.  Monday, NASCAR banned teams from sending their cars out onto the racetrack with less than five lug nuts per wheel, and every lug nut is now required to be tight. This comes on the heels of three-time Sprint Cup Series champion, Tony Stewart calling out the sanctioning body less than a week ago for their unsafe practice of allowing teams to skipRead More
By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a great race Sunday in the Toyota Owner’s 400 at Richmond International Raceway, unfortunately it won’t be remembered that way after he finished an unimpressive 13th. Earnhardt, who was looking for a weekend sweep after winning the Xfinity Series race on Saturday, started the day from the 16th position, and for the first half of the race he looked to have a 12th-place car. However, as the race got into the closing stages Earnhardt and his crew chief Greg Ives keptRead More
By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor It had been a long time since Tony Stewart raced in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series — last November to be exact — but the three-time Sprint Cup Series champion competed admirably Sunday in his first start since suffering a burst fracture in his back during the offseason. Stewart started the Toyota Owner’s 400 at Richmond International Raceway with high hopes, as everything surrounding the conditions of the race seemed to be lining up in his favor. “This is exactly what — if I could scriptRead More

By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor Jeffrey Earnhardt is a 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie of the year candidate, who is trying to help the Go FAS Racing team reach the next level in the sport. He also has the immense pressure of trying to uphold the legacy of the Earnhardt name, while learning the ropes at NASCAR’s top level. Earnhardt is coming off of his career-best finish of 32nd this past week at Bristol, and a couple of weeks ago at Texas he sat down with Tribute Racing to talkRead More
