Force India Changes Livery for New Sponsor

By Adam Tate, Associate Editor

Force India has traded in its traditional silver and black livery for a vivid matte pink, courtesy of the team’s new sponsor Best Water Technology. BWT as they are known, are a water treatment and technology firm based in upper Austria. The company is one of Europe’s major players in the water market.

Their pink colors and giant blue logo now feature proudly on the sidepods of the VJM10 in a decidedly retro style. The drivers, Sergio Perez and newcomer Esteban Ocon will also feature pink crash helmets, however no word on what the team had to do in order for them to comply with such a demand has come to light just yet.

Team Principal, Vijay Mallya heralded the deal and heaped praise upon the new partnership.

“The arrival of BWT in Formula 1 is huge news and represents one of the most significant partnerships in our ten year history,” said Mallya.

“It’s a sign of how far we have come as a team with our strong results and completes a solid commercial performance over the winter. For 2017 our cars will sport a vibrant new colour scheme with a smart matte finish. Changing the colour of our cars is an indication of the strength of this new partnership and a real statement of intent from BWT as they begin their relationship with the sport of F1.”

The season hasn’t even begun and its already shaping up to be one of the most colorful in recent history. The fans at Albert Park will be in for a visual treat with cola can chrome and bubblegum pink cars on the grid set to add a visual variety not seen since the 1990’s.
