Dale Coyne Racing confirmed Wednesday that Carlos Huertas will return to the #18 Honda/Dallara for this weekend’s Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis.
Huertas was slated to race the whole season in the #18 car, but was forced to sit out the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach due to financial issues on his end. He was replaced first by Rocky Moran, Jr. and then by Conor Daly before Rodolfo Gonzalez taking over at Barber.
Gonzalez was on the provisional entry list alongside Francesco Dracone, who was initially only slated to drive for the first four races of the season but has since been confirmed for an additional race.
Team owner Dale Coyne confirmed to Tribute Racing at Long Beach that it is unlikely that Dracone will race for the team in the Indianapolis 500.
The team has still yet to confirm the drivers of the #18 and #19 cars for the Indy 500 but it is believed James Davison and Vitor Meira are the strongest candidates for the ride.
