By David Morgan, Associate Editor Two races in two days. Double the fun. Pocono Raceway will host a doubleheader weekend for the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend, with the running of the Pocono Organics CBD 325 on Saturday afternoon, followed by the Explore the Pocono Mountains 350 a day later on Sunday afternoon. With only three turns, instead of the four turns at all other ovals on the circuit, Pocono is definitely one of the most unique tracks on the schedule. The three turns all have differing banking with Turn 1Read More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Stewart-Haas Racing has had a rather miserable season. Just nothing have really gone the four-car organization’s way. For half of the entries, that all changed in Sunday’s Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Aric Almirola, who scored his first top-five of the year thanks to a fourth place result. Kevin Harvick was a spot behind his SHR teammate for his fifth top-five, the first since finishing second at Kansas in May. Almirola won the Busch Pole Award earlier in the day after putting a superb qualifying run.Read More
By Holly Cain, NASCAR Wire Service Kyle Larson continued his streak of superiority Sunday afternoon winning the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway – his third consecutive win, following three consecutive runner-up finishes. He hasn’t finished worse than second place in a NASCAR Cup Series race since May 2. It’s a high performance mark the series hasn’t seen in more than a decade when former Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson won four straight points-paying races in 2007. Larson’s win Sunday was his third straight points-paying victory but he also won theRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer A long-term vision Kaulig Racing have set since opening shop seven years ago will come into fruition in 2022. No longer they’ll just be a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series organization, they’re doing the same in the Cup Series. The announcement was made at Nashville Superspeedway Friday afternoon, confirming of running two Cup cars with charters included. Both purchased charters come from Spire Motorsports. Justin Haley will be their full-time driver, signing a multi-year deal. AJ Allmendinger will still focus on the Xfinity Series championship, but willRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor Sitting dormant since 2011, Nashville Superspeedway will roar back to life this weekend when NASCAR returns for the first time in a decade and brings along the Cup Series to make its debut in Sunday’s running of the Ally 400. The 1.33-mile concrete track, located on the outskirts of Nashville in Lebanon, Tennessee, is no stranger to hosting NASCAR events with both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR camping World Truck Series running there from 2001 to 2011 before the track was shuttered. By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Team Penske’s shortcomings didn’t end with INDYCAR at Detroit. It continued in the NASCAR All-Star Race as Brad Keselowski finished second at Texas Motor Speedway. Ironically, a Penske driver representing the No. 2 machine lost to the man who piloted a No. 5 Chevrolet. Earlier it was Pato O’Ward beating Josef Newgarden. Hours later, it was Kyle Larson who bested Keselowski, especially when the race mattered most. Keselowski had a noble day, but once track position fell into his favor, his No. 2 Discount Tire. EspeciallyRead More
By Holly Cain, NASCAR Wire Service FORT WORTH, Texas – Kyle Larson earned a $1 million paycheck and his second NASCAR All-Star Race victory in three seasons – putting on a racing master class Sunday evening at Texas Motor Speedway. Larson was part of a frenetic three-wide move for the race lead with eight laps remaining – himself and runner-up Brad Keselowski splitting the car driven by Larson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott to make the move forward.  Larson pulled his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in front of the fieldRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor Over the 36-year lifespan of the NASCAR All-Star Race, the annual non-points exhibition has been run at a track other than Charlotte Motor Speedway only twice, but on Sunday night, that number grows as Texas Motor Speedway gets set to host the $1 million showdown for the first time. A total of 21 drivers will compete in the six-round, 100 lap event, with eligible drivers including those who won a points-paying racing in 2020 or 2021, full-time drivers that have previously won an All-Star Race, andRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer SONOMA, Calif. – There was no Sonoma Raceway three-peat for Martin Truex, Jr during Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350. In fact, the three-time track winner didn’t even lead a lap at all. What he was able to do was finish third, behind Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling last year’s race, Truex entered as the defending race winner. Of course, the question was can he still get the job done in “Wine Country” despite a two-year gap? Truex feltRead More
