Former NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Rookie of the Year Myatt Snider will make his Xfinity Series season debut in 2020 with Richard Childress Racing.
The agreement was confirmed Thursday that the 24-year-old will run a limited schedule with TaxSlayer as his primary sponsor. Snider will make his first start at Daytona International Speedway February 15 to kick-off the season.
Snider is thrilled to have a huge opportunity to flourish on the national tour once again after spending the past season competing full-time in the Whelen Euro Series, scoring a pole, two podiums, and finishing sixth in the championship standings.
“I am thrilled to be driving for Richard Childress Racing in 2020,” Snider said. “It’s an honor to drive for a team with such a rich history in the sport, and I’m excited to start learning from everyone. After a great season of racing in Europe this past year, I’m excited to be back home and moving up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series.”
Additionally, Snider is happy that TaxSlayer will be a part of the effort as it’ll mark the first time the tax filing company will be in the sport since 2016 when it was JR Motorsports’ primaries.
“I’m honored to be a part of bringing them back to the Xfinity Series,” Snider said. “TaxSlayer has been a loyal partner of mine, and I can’t wait to see what we can build together moving forward. I know the season just ended, but 2020 is shaping up to be an excellent year. I’m just ready for Daytona to get here as soon as possible!”
President and CEO of TaxSlayer Brian Rhodes said that he’s proud of joining both RCR and Snider in 2020.
“We’re proud to join the Richard Childress Racing family of corporate partners and align ourselves with a driver as talented and accomplished as Myatt Snider,” Rhodes said. “RCR and Snider are helping us share the TaxSlayer story with race fans so more people can file their taxes quickly and affordably. We couldn’t be more excited to see them through to the finish line.”
Richard Childress added that having Snider and TaxSlayer’s family ties in their respective fields all made sense to join forces.
“We’re proud to be joining forces with Myatt and TaxSlayer during the 2020 season,” Childress said. “Both Myatt and TaxSlayer are family-focused, with Myatt’s family being involved in racing and TaxSlayer being a family-owned tax and financial technology company. Those values fit perfectly with ours, and I think will help guide all of us to on and off-track success next season.”
Childress is fresh off wrapping up his 50th season involved in the sport and earning a fifth Xfinity Series title as an owner with Tyler Reddick scoring his second straight series title at Homestead-Miami Speedway last Saturday.
