Castroneves rises on second day

Three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves didn’t need any help to show speed on Tuesday as he led all drivers with and without a tow. The Brazilian hooked up with his Team Penske teammate Simon Pagenaud to produce the fastest lap so far this month at 227.514 mph (39.5580s) while Pagenaud was clocked just a tick slower at 227.382 mph (39.5809s). Honda’s saving grace

This past weekend at the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis for the Verizon IndyCar Series, we saw Chevrolet cars dominate practice, dominate qualifying and take a convincing win. INDIANAPOLIS (May 6, 2015) – INDYCAR announced the following manufacturers’ championship points adjustments following the Indianapolis 500 Open Test Day on May 3 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway: • Honda received a bonus of 30 engine manufacturer points for attaining the life cycle minimum for three of its engines. 2011 Indianapolis 500 polesitter Alex Tagliani has joined A.J. Foyt Racing alongside Takuma Sato and Jack Hawksworth for the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500. Series points leader Juan Pablo Montoya set the pace as speed soared during the afternoon session on the lone day of aero kit testing in preparation for the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500.
