McLaren set for engine penalties at Monza

After facing a 105-place grid penalty at Spa-Francorchamps, McLaren braces for another rough weekend as they approach the ‘Temple of Speed’ for the Italian Grand Prix. In Belgium, Honda introduced an upgraded engine and brought into play two fresh power units. However, the decision to change power units once again in Monza is believed to be more of a strategic move to help increase the engine pool, instead of any technical issues. With the changes it means penalties once again for Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso. Button will serve aRead More

In wake of Wednesday’s Strategy Group meeting at Biggin Hill, McLaren-Honda have been granted an additional power unit without penalty for the remainder of the 2015 Formula One season. To help level the playing field, the FIA said an extra power unit is allowed for any new manufacturer entering the sport. The FIA said the following in a recent statement: “Following the AustrianRead More
Nico Rosberg has finally beaten Lewis Hamilton in straight fight in 2015. After going at it like mad in qualifying where Hamilton came out on top, Nico drove the better race today and left his championship rival behind in what was otherwise a rather boring and uneventful race. Kimi Raikkonen lost traction in his Ferrari in a manner eerily similar to Canada and collected Fernando Alonso’s McLaren in a terrifying accident in the opening stages of the race. The McLaren ended up on top of the Ferrari, its tea trayRead More

Having performed an exhaustive series of tests and scans – some of them as recently as yesterday evening – McLaren-Honda driver Fernando Alonso’s doctors have informed him that they find him asymptomatic of any medical issue; that they see no evidence whatsoever of any injury; and that they therefore describe him as entirely healthy from neurological and cardiac perspectives alike. However, Fernando’s doctors have recommended to him that, following the concussion he sustained in a testing accident at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on February 22nd, for the time being heRead More
