United Fiber & Data Takes Over as Primary Sponsor for Marco Andretti

The Andretti Autosport No. 27 entry driven by Marco Andretti will see its primary sponsor for the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season change from hhgregg to United Fiber & Data.

Originally set for a full campaign, hhgregg recently closed over 80 stores and has now filed for bankruptcy.

“We’d like to wish Bob (Riesbeck) and the entire hhgregg family luck as they work through the current situation,” said Andretti Autosport CEO Michael Andretti in a team release. “We are blessed to have such loyal and dedicated partners; and while this is an unfortunate situation for hhgregg, we are pleased to have such a strong relationship remaining with United Fiber & Data.”

Despite the issue, UFD’s partnership with Andretti Autosport goes back many seasons, having formerly been an associate sponsor in 2103 before becoming a primary sponsor the next year with James Hinchcliffe.

“We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Andretti Autosport, and we are equally pleased to continue this partnership by serving as a primary sponsor for select IndyCar races this season,” said Bill Hynes, Founder & CEO of United Fiber & Data (UFD).

“We look forward to once again bringing the signature colors of the UFD livery to IndyCar tracks across the country.”

UFD will be on the No. 27 for the next round at Long Beach and various races this season.
