BUBBA Burger to Sponsor Legge’s NASCAR Oval Debut

IMSA WeatherTeach SportsCar Championship veteran Katherine Legge will not only make her NASCAR oval debut Friday, but she’ll have BUBBA Burger as her primary sponsor when she pilots the No. 15 Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller at Richmond Raceway in Virginia.

BUBBA Burger has been heavily involved in Legge’s sports car endeavors, and Vice President of Marketing Andy Stenson said he’s thrilled of being part of Legge’s NASCAR journey, more so after she and co-driver Alvaro Parente scored their second victory of the season in the GTD class at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Sept. 9, driving for Michael Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian.

“We want to support Katherine and JD Motorsports any way we can,” Stenson said. “Katherine is a strong and accomplished driver, as was proven again this month by her win at Laguna Seca. We’re happy to encourage her entry into NASCAR racing and excited about what she can do going forward.”

After having a solid showings in her two previous Xfinity Series starts at Mid-Ohio and Road America, with a 14th-place effort at the latter being her best finish, Legge will have a taste of the sport’s traditional circuits as the 0.75-mile oval is known for intense battles and lack of shyness from drivers using their bumpers.

Team owner Johnny Davis said she has been impressed with Legge thus far, notably how adapting she’s been, and felt having a primary sponsor makes her oval debut as important.

“Katherine has been great to work with,” said Davis. “We’re looking forward to seeing what we can do in her oval debut. It’s a different kind of racing, of course, but she has proven she can adapt quickly. Having BUBBA Burger along for the ride will make it even more special.”

Among the seven drivers that’s driven the No. 15 Chevrolet, Legge’s performance at Road America is currently their best finish, and their only top-15 finish out of the team’s 25 starts.
