Fuzzy’s Vodka Ends Partnership with Ed Carpenter Racing

By Josh Farmer, Contributing Journalist

Fuzzy’s Vodka has concluded their long-standing relationship with Ed Carpenter Racing to explore marketing ventures outside of motorsport.

The pair joined forces in 2010, when Ed Carpenter carried Fuzzy’s colors for four races, including the Indianapolis 500, driving for Panther Racing. He claimed a pole for the effort at Kentucky that September.

Both sides stepped up to a full-time effort in 2012 as the Indianapolis native formed his own team and scored the brand’s first victory at the season finale at Auto Club Speedway that year.

In total ECR carried Fuzzy’s colors to five wins (two with Carpenter and Mike Conway and one with Josef Newgarden), 16 podium finishes and three Indianapolis 500 poles (2013, 2014, 2018) with Carpenter driving.

The only owner/driver in the series remains committed to the 2019 IndyCar Series season and is pursuing a new sponsor.

“It has been a good run and I wish them nothing but the best with their future endeavors,” said Carpenter. “Tony George, Stuart Reed and I started ECR together back in 2012 and we are still as committed now as we were then to winning Indy 500s and competing for IndyCar Series championships. Our plans for 2019 and beyond remain unchanged and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together moving forward.”

Carpenter will continue to drive the No. 20 car on the ovals. Ed Jones joins the team to drive the road/street circuits in a co-operative effort with Scuderia Corsa. He will also enter a joint-effort car in the Indianapolis 500. Spencer Pigot returns as the pilot of the No. 21 Chevrolet for a second straight year.
