Tony Kanaan will return to Chip Ganassi Racing for a third season with NTT Data once again sponsoring the #10 Chevrolet/Dallara.
Kanaan, who leads all active drivers with number of consecutive starts (249), joined CGR in 2014 and has scored one win (Auto Club Speedway, 2014) and nine podiums and finished as high as seventh in the standings in 2014. He was also part of the winning team in the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona driving with IndyCar teammate Scott Dixon and NASCAR drivers Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray.
The Brazillian finished a season high second place at Texas and Fontana in 2014 and came close to winning on a few occasions but never was able to seal the deal and ended the year eighth in points.
“It feels really great to be back with NTT DATA Chip Ganassi Racing for the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season. 2015 was kind of a roller coaster of a season with some really solid results throughout the year, but our top-five finish and Dixon’s Championship in Sonoma was a really positive way to go into the offseason for the whole team,” said Kanaan. “I’ve worked with some great people at NTT DATA over the past few years and I’ve been able to use their strengths and assets to better myself as a driver, and being able to do that has just made our partnership that much stronger. I feel very good about the 2016 season and I want nothing more than to get NTT DATA Chip Ganassi Racing their first of many wins.”
