The fire broke out in the rear axle of the transporter and was contained to that area. The local Fire and Police departments worked with the two transport drivers, John Phil David and Eric “Stu” Stewart to put out the fire and keep the damage from potentially burning the entire vehicle. The Milwaukee race winning team of KVSH Racing has been penalized for a weight limit infraction. The #11 Hydroxycut Chevrolet was found to not meet the 1,600 pound minimum weight limit, which is in violation of IndyCar rule 14.3.1.1 and was fined $5,000.
