Wallace Gains Sponsorship from The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

By David Morgan, NASCAR Editor

For the third time in as many weeks, the famous No. 43 car piloted by Darrell Wallace, Jr. will have a new sponsor adorning the quarter-panels after Richard Petty Motorsports announced that The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will come on board for this weekend’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“The Cosmopolitan is one of the coolest places on the Strip,” said Wallace Jr. “Everything that is a part of the resort is the best of the best of Vegas. I enjoy going to Las Vegas, having fun, eating great food and just being able to relax at an amazing place like The Cosmopolitan. This is a pretty cool sponsorship.”

In addition to having sponsorship from The Cosmopolitan this weekend, Wallace and RPM have had sponsorship from the NASCAR Racing Experience at Atlanta, and their already announced three-race deal with Mid America Mortgage and Click n’ Close was on the car for all of Speedweeks in Daytona.

The team will also have sponsorship from STP and the U.S. Air Force in select races in 2018.

While Sunday will mark Wallace’s first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start at Las Vegas, he has made a handful of starts at the track in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, scoring two top-10 finishes in the Xfinity Series and two top-five finishes in the Truck Series.

Wallace also participated in a team test at Las Vegas in mid-January, logging some crucial seat time around the 1.5 mile track.

“I think everyone likes coming to Las Vegas,” Wallace added. “It’s just a lot of fun for fans and everyone in the sport.  We had our first test in Vegas right before the season started.  It was out first time in our Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, too.  We were able to learn a lot, and it was my first time in a Cup car at Vegas.  We got up to speed pretty quickly and felt good when we left.  We just want to take what we learned and come back even a little bit better this weekend.”
