2019 Sebring Predictions

By Christopher DeHarde, Staff Writer

SEBRING, Fla.– The 67th Annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring starts within the hour so let’s make some last minute predictions.

Overall winner: No. 55 Mazda. Jonathan Bomarito, Harry Tincknell and Olivier Pla are wheeling the car that will start seventh and they were very quick during practice on Thursday. Mazda Team Joest are looking to turn around their luck after how Daytona ended and let’s see if they can do it here.

DPi Dark Horse: No. 54 CORE Autosport Nissan DPi. CORE Autosport are a good shout for a top-five finish and dare say a podium if they made enough improvements after testing at Sebring a few weeks ago.

LMP2 winner: Flip a coin. There’s only two cars.

GTLM winner; No. 67 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT. Two drivers in that car have won their class at Sebring, only Scott Dixon lacks the class win. He’ll get that win today.

GTD winner: No. 44 Magnus Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3. Yeah, they’re starting toward the back but Andy Lally feels confident in his car and what they can do.

GTD Dark Horse: No. 57 Meyer-Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3. Christina Nielsen, Katherine Legge and Bia Figueiredo have one of the best lineups in GTD and their teammates in the No. 86 Acura qualified on pole.
