By Luis Torres, Staff Writer For the second straight day, Team Penske left the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix heartbroken. Yesterday it was Will Power’s car not firing up after the red flag was lifted. Today, it was Josef Newgarden’s rear tire wear playing a role on finishing second after leading the first 67 laps. “Sad. Just pretty sad,” said Newgarden. “It’s hard not to be disappointed. We had the car to beat, but the cautions (came out) when we didn’t need them. Wrong tires when we didn’t need them.” Right outRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer A late-race crash involving Romain Grosjean caused a tremendous ripple effect in Saturday’s Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Race No. 1. Especially, towards the front of the field as Will Power went from leading to out of contention in 10 minutes. With just six laps remaining, Grosjean’s No. 51 Honda crashed into the outside wall of Turn 9. This brought out the second and final full course caution with Power leading Marcus Ericsson and Takuma Sato. What Power didn’t want to see was a caution, let aloneRead More

Dr. Geoffrey Billows issued a statement regarding Rosenqvist’s conditions at 3:15 p.m. ET: “He never lost consciousness and was talking the entire time. He was having some soreness, but no loss of sensation anywhere or functions. “We were able to get him out of the car and bring him to the infield care center for preliminary evaluation. By Luis Torres, Staff Writer The lone practice session for the NTT IndyCar Series at Belle Isle certainly didn’t lack any drama. In fact saying drama is a total understatement. Friday’s session can be defined by many words, but chaotic takes the cake. Both Will Power (1:17.2768) and Sebastien Bourdais (1:17.4291) led the board, only separated by 0.1523 seconds. PRACTICE RESULTS: 2021 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix For Power, it’s about finding any determination to put a dreadful Indianapolis 500 behind him. More so, when the championship trail is pushing its halfwayRead More

Truex Denied A Sonoma Three-Peat

By Luis Torres, Staff Writer SONOMA, Calif. – There was no Sonoma Raceway three-peat for Martin Truex, Jr during Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350. In fact, the three-time track winner didn’t even lead a lap at all. What he was able to do was finish third, behind Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling last year’s race, Truex entered as the defending race winner. Of course, the question was can he still get the job done in “Wine Country” despite a two-year gap? Truex feltRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer INDIANAPOLIS – Ed Carpenter Racing had quite an interesting day in the 105th Indianapolis 500, especially for the boss man. On a day Rinus VeeKay and Conor Daly set the tone throughout the first half of the race, Carpenter had a different afternoon. While running with the leaders early on, Carpenter’s day went south during the first green flag stops. His car stalled, costing him dearly and had to play recovery mode. As race’s end, Carpenter did found his way back towards the leading pack.Read More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer INDIANAPOLIS – “Helio! Helio! Helio!” The Indianapolis Motor Speedway were chanting the name of Helio Castroneves, who won the 105th Indianapolis 500. By Luis Torres, Staff Writer INDIANAPOLIS – “I tried everything. It hurts. But to be honest, it’s good to lose against probably one of the best. Well, it’s one of the best, probably the best. Yeah, it’s Helio.” Alex Palou indeed tried everything he could to get and fend off Helio Castroneves. But when Castroneves made the race-winning pass with two to go, Palou saw the Indy dream evaporate. As Castroneves brought home his fourth Indianapolis 500 victory, Palou wound up a crushing runner-up. “I didn’t expect that a secondRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer INDIANAPOLIS – What started off as a three-man rookie class, one man stood out throughout the Month of May. That man being Scott McLaughlin, who wins this year’s Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year honors. Far from an ideal race indeed, but the 20th place finisher will leave IMS with an accolade. His fellow rookie competitors Pietro Fittipaldi finished a lap down in 25th while RC Enerson failed to qualify. After the race McLaughlin described his Indy 500 debut as a “pretty awesome experience.” “ReallyRead More
