By Luis Torres, Staff Writer If it wasn’t for a speeding penalty on the final green flag pit stop, Daniel Suarez’s day could’ve been different. During Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Suarez had a top-10 run going. Rather than being one of a couple of cars leading during pit stops again, Suarez showed tremendous pace. More so, during the tail end of Stage 2 where he got Trackhouse Racing’s first stage point in its team’s run thus far. He wasn’t done with just a 10th stageRead More

By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Inspection problems were the name of the game for Hendrick Motorsports drivers William Byron, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson. The trio had to work from the rear of the field to score top-10s in the Instacart 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Following the Xfinity Series race Saturday, NASCAR reported that Larson and Byron failed pre-race tech twice. Therefore, relinquishing their second and 10th starting spots. Sunday morning rolled along and Elliott, who won last November, was also sent to the rear. He was scheduled to roll offRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Last Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was a race to forget for Stewart-Haas Racing. This includes Kevin Harvick, who was the highest-finishing SHR entry with an appalling 20th. Harvick’s teammates Chase Briscoe, Cole Custer and Aric Almirola also struggled, finishing 21st, 25th and 38th respectively. When it’s a race where no SHR car led a lap nor end up on the lead lap, questions pile up. More so for Harvick, who led the field to the green flag. Even with the concerns, heplansRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Compared to most races since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Kyle Busch had a progressive afternoon at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, finishing third in Sunday’s Pennzoil 400. Busch’s road towards his first top-five of 2021 was a grind as he battled a super tight No. 18 Ethel M Chocolates Toyota Camry. Things began finally clicking was the final stage where he was on the move making progress while others struggled gaining ground. It certainly paid dividends with his result, but there’s still significant room for improvement. “WeRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer When Romain Grosjean isn’t running the No. 51 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing w/ Rick Ware Racing, Pietro Fittipaldi will be running the oval races this season. The current Haas F1 Team reserved driver will make his NTT IndyCar Series return after three years, slated to compete in the Texas doubleheader, Gateway and that elusive Indianapolis 500. Why elusive? In 2018, Fittipaldi was supposed to run for DCR’s No. 19 team until a career altering injury at a FIA World Endurance Championship event in Spa-Francorchamps dashedRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Homestead-Miami Speedway once again proved to be Kyle Larson’s natural habitat in NASCAR. Only this time, he was navigating the 1.5-mile circuit for Hendrick Motorsports. In his third start with the team, Larson finished fourth in Sunday’s Dixie Vodka 400 for his fourth career Homestead top-five. While it wasn’t a race win yet again, Larson rebounded from a disappointing 30th place finish at the Daytona Road Course last Sunday. In the closing laps, Larson was running in the top-three but the shot of catching teammate WilliamRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Myatt Snider is now a NASCAR Xfinity Series winner following Saturday’s Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In his 36th series start, Snider’s No. 2 Tax Slayer Chevrolet Camaro had to redeem himself after a rough restart during the first overtime. The blunder gave two-time NXS champion Tyler Reddick the lead, but a caution for a spin and save by A.J. Allmendinger led to another restart. When the race resumed one last time, Snider was on top of his game and passed Reddick for the topRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Welcome to the NTT IndyCar Series, Romain Grosjean. The nine-year Formula One veteran took part of his first major test at Barber Motorsports Park on Tuesday. Not only that, it was the first time he was back behind the wheel following his horrific crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix three months ago. Even from afar, his children were super excited to see their heroic dad back in a race car. “I’ve been sharing and talking with them a lot, and we made some video calls overRead More
By Luis Torres, Staff Writer Brad Keselowski had quite an extraordinary day in Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 235. Even saying that about the fifth-place finisher could be viewed as an understatement. “It was just one of those never-give-up kind of races. We just fought and fought and fought and just made some mistakes, caught some bad breaks, kind of all threw together,” said Keselowski. “But, in the end, just a lot of perseverance, a lot of heart, a lot of will from the entire team and put us in a good spotRead More
