Castrol EDGE Becomes Official Primary of No. 98 for Texas

The No. 98 machine of Alexander Rossi will see a familiar, yet different look this weekend as Castrol EDGE will take on the role of primary sponsor for the Firestone 600.  Castrol EDGE will have an enhanced presence on the black and white livery to commemorate the Indianapolis 500 victory shared just two short weeks ago.

“Castrol EDGE has been a long-time partner of Bryan Herta Autosport and was welcomed into the Andretti stable with our team in February,” said Bryan Herta. “Since 2013 we have seen our relationship grow and were thrilled when we first used the Supercar oil in our Honda engine at Pocono last year. It goes without saying Castrol EDGE played a pivotal role in the success we had at the 100th Running of the Indy 500. It only makes sense for Castrol to have chosen the next speedway after IMS to celebrate the victory of Alexander, Castrol EDGE and the team.”

“We are delighted to be the major sponsor of Alexander’s #98 car for the Firestone 600,”  stated Rich Pond, Head of Marketing for Castrol in the Americas.   “It’s the celebration of a true winning partnership between Castrol, the Honda Performance Development team and of course, Andretti Herta Autosport. The 100th running of the Indy 500 was the perfect demonstration of the strength of Castrol EDGE Supercar oil to perform in the most torturous and competitive racing environments.  We were thrilled to be part of the winning effort and thank Honda, Bryan, Michael Andretti and Alexander Rossi for letting us demonstrate what Castrol EDGE Supercar could do.”

Practice for the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway begins today at 12 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports. Follow along with qualifying on the Verizon INDYCAR app or by visiting racecontrol.indycar.com at 4:15 p.m. ET, NBC Sports will air Firestone 600 qualifying from 6-7:30 p.m.
