LEXINGTON, Ohio — The Acura Team Penske domination continued into Sunday morning at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, as Helio Castroneves led a sweep of the top two spots by the organization’s two entries in the morning warmup for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Castroneves’ lap of 1:14.124 in the No. 7 Acura ARX-05 stood as the quickest time in the session, with teammate Dane Cameron following in the No. 6 Acura ARC-05 with a 1:14.389.

The two Team Penske entires have paced every session and will roll off on the front row in this afternoon’s race. They’re still searching for their first win since returning to the sport with Acura for Petit Le Mans at the end of the 2017 season.

Colin Braun and CORE Autosport followed in third with a Action Express Racing’s Felipe Nasr and Filipue Albuquerque following in fourth and fifth, respectively. Nasr’s speed came with a caveat, however, as the veteran slid off-course and into the tire wall to bring the warmup to an early close.

Nasr managed to maneuver his wounded vehicle to pit lane after the shunt.

Jesse Krohn claimed the fastest time in GT Le Mans in BMW Team RLL’s No. 24 BMW M8 GTE. Richard Westbrook followed in second behind the wheel of the No. 67 Ford GT, with Laurens Vanthoor’s No. 912 Porsche rounding out the top three.

Polesitter Jack Hawksworth led the way in GT Daytona, setting quick time in the No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3 for 3GT Racing. Alvaro Parente was second fastest in Meyer Shank Racing’s No. 86 Acura NSX GT3, with Dominik Baumann completing the top three in the No. 14 Lexus.

Frenchman Patrick Pilet suffered a setback in the No. 911 Porsche 911 RSR , backing the machine into a tire barrier during the session. He continued on to pit road without forcing caution, but his machine suffered significant body damage that will require a repair prior to the afternoon’s race.

Coverage for the 160-minute Mid-Ohio Sports Car Showdown will begin on FOX Sports 2 at 1 p.m. ET,
