Lotus F1: Points of Authority, Chinese Grand Prix

Lotus F1 Team scored their first points of the season after Romain Grosjean came home in a strong seventh position in the Chinese Grand Prix. It wasn’t so plain sailing for Pastor Maldonado who, despite a very strong start, suffered from braking issues and late race contact from Jenson Button, eventually retiring from the race with seven laps to go. Romain started from P8 on the grid on his qualifying soft tyres, changing to new medium tyres on laps 12 and 32. Pastor started from P11 on the grid onRead More
The mood at Mercedes two weeks ago was dark. Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel had stunned them with defeat at the Malaysian Grand Prix and they were going to do everything in their power to prevent such a scenario in China. Much to their relief, the W06’s dominance rarely looked threatened throughout the Shanghai weekend and Lewis Hamilton converted yet another pole to another victory. Vettel and Raikkonen followed behind them for Ferrari, with Massa and Bottas doing the same for Williams. Even if a bit dull, the Chinese Grand PrixRead More

Hamilton Wins in Australia

Lewis Hamilton continued his perfect weekend by dominating the Australian grand prix, leading every lap en route to his 7th victory in 8 races. For Hamilton it was a straightforward lights to flag victory with Nico Rosberg perpetually in tow, but behind the silver arrows, chaos and attrition ruled the roost. Kevin Magnussen’s McLaren never made the start, his Honda engine letting go early. Neither did Red Bull’s Danill Kyvat when a gearbox issue stranded the young Russian. Romain Grosjean’s Lotus never got going, Pastor Maldonado’s Lotus was bounced intoRead More

Having performed an exhaustive series of tests and scans – some of them as recently as yesterday evening – McLaren-Honda driver Fernando Alonso’s doctors have informed him that they find him asymptomatic of any medical issue; that they see no evidence whatsoever of any injury; and that they therefore describe him as entirely healthy from neurological and cardiac perspectives alike. However, Fernando’s doctors have recommended to him that, following the concussion he sustained in a testing accident at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on February 22nd, for the time being heRead More
