Honda’s saving grace

This past weekend at the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis for the Verizon IndyCar Series, we saw Chevrolet cars dominate practice, dominate qualifying and take a convincing win. Simona de Silvestro has escaped injury following a fire during today’s practice session for the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500. Her #29 TE Connectivity Honda/Dallara started trailing smoke as she was leaving the pit road warm up lane in turn 2. The smoke soon erupted into a fire and she coasted to stop in turn 3 and climbed from the car unharmed. Will Power kicked off the Month of May perfectly with a dominating win in the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis. The Aussie had the perfect combination of a quick car as well as making the fuel mileage last to the end and led 65 of the race’s 82 laps. This morning, Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee was announced on the Bob & Tom Show as the Pace Car driver of Saturday’s Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Dale Coyne Racing confirmed Wednesday that Carlos Huertas will return to the #18 Honda/Dallara for this weekend’s Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Huertas was slated to race the whole season in the #18 car, but was forced to sit out the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach due to financial issues on his end.
