Another NASCAR Xfinity Series race at a restrictor plate track, and another controversial finish decided by a yellow flag.
On the final lap of the Subway FireCracker 250, a melee ensued on the backstretch. However NASCAR officials opted to let the finish of the race play out. Aric Almirola and Justin Allgaier were locked into a drag race to the start finish line, until the epic finish was called off.
Just a few hundred feet from the finish line the yellow flag was displayed and the win was awarded to Almirola after NASCAR analyzed video replays. It was another frustrating moment for NASCAR fans, but it was apparently equally as frustrating for the drivers in the race.
Darrell Wallace Jr. was one of numerous drivers who were swept up in the big crash on the final lap. Overall, Wallace finished 20th on the night, but after getting out of his car, Wallace took exception to how the end of the race was officiated on Twitter. He proceeded to compare NASCAR officials to lovable children television characters.
Got the muppets up there officiating tonight! Never know how to react under pressure… Whatta joke

Wallace has reason to be upset as Friday night’s finish was a total chaotic mess from an officiating standpoint.
UPDATE: Landon Cassill, obviously knowing it’s a no-no to criticize NASCAR’s officiating, sent a hilarious jab to Darrell “Bubba” Wallace.
RIP Bubba https://t.co/DYfSyyfYeI

Any fines or penalties for Wallace’s officiating comments would be announced next week.
