The 2014 and 2015 Macau Grand Prix winner is coming to the 2016 Indy Lights Championship.

Sweden’s Felix Rosenqvist has been confirmed by Belardi Auto Racing as their second driver for the upcoming Indy Lights campaign alongside Zach Veach in a two car effort that puts Belardi at the forefront of a championship discussion.

Rosenqvist has a strong European resume to back him up. He has won the Masters of Formula 3 race twice (2011, 2013) as well as the 2015 European Formula 3 Championship to go along with his Macau Grand Prix victories.

He tested with Belardi at Homestead in January and set very quick times during the Indy Lights sessions. Rosenqvist will be testing at Phoenix and then at Barber Motorsports Park in the official Mazda Road to Indy test a week before the first race of the season in St. Petersburg.

“I’m really excited about racing in the US this year, and doing so with Belardi Auto Racing,” said Rosenqvist. “Testing went very well and I got to grips with the car pretty much straight away. I like the way the team operates, and the racing seems a lot of fun with a wide variety of circuits and pure driving. Racing on this side of the world will be very different to what I’m used to, but certainly a challenge I’m already relishing.”
