SAN DIEGO — The second round of the 2025 SMX World Championship Series and the indoor stadium season of Monster Energy AMA Supercross was held at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego last Saturday.

Unlike last year where it was rain and muddy, it was clear weather but cooler temperatures once the madness kicked into high gear. As riders had to navigate around a tight course, they put on a solid show in front of the Southern California crowd.

In the end, the folks in attendance saw a first-time Supercross winner in Julien “Juju” Beaumer in the 250cc West category, but also two-time AMA Supercross 450cc champion Eli Tomac held off reigning champion Jett Lawrence in the 450cc main event.

Saturday’s triumph marked Tomac’s 34th career win and his third in San Diego.

In the latest installment in “Race in Pictures,” I highlight those moments from both main event races.
