Share of penalties handed out post Fontana

IndyCar has announced the following post race penalties from last Saturday’s MavTV 500 at Auto Club Speedway.

Will Power has been fined $25,000 and been placed on probation for the rest of the season for pushing a safety worker after he climbed from his wrecked #1 Verizon Wireless Chevrolet.

Tristan Vautier was fined $10,000 for contact with left front tire changer Owen Trower during his first pitstop. He has also been placed on probation for the remainder of the season.

Race winner Graham Rahal has been fined $5,000 and has been given another $5,000 suspended sentence for leaving the pits with the fuel probe still attached while Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing refueler Phil Davis was placed on probation for three races.

Juan Pablo Montoya was fined $1,500 for hitting an air hose during a pit stop.

Schmidt Peterson Motorports, (#7) Andretti Autosport (26) and CFH Racing (#67) were all fined $500 for unattended wheel nuts. The #67 team was fined an additional $500 for an unattended tire.
