Juncos Racing is set to make their final run for the 2015 Indy Lights Championship Presented by Cooper Tires next week at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Rookie Spencer Pigot trails championship leader Jack Harvey by only six points as they head into Rounds 15 and 16. The season finale will take place September 10th through the 13th on the 2.238 mile, 11-Turn road course in Monterey, California.

Proving to be a championship contender in their first season in the final step of IndyCar’s Mazda Road to Indy ladder series, Juncos Racing is ready to finish out the 2015 Indy Lights season with rookies Spencer Pigot (Orlando, Florida) and Kyle Kaiser (Santa Clara, California). The rookies will have two test sessions, and two practice sessions before heading into Round 15 on Saturday, September 12th and the final Round 16 on Sunday, September 13th.

American Spencer Pigot driver of the #12 MAZDASPEED scholarship car, has had the strongest run as a rookie since moving up to the final step of the Mazda Road to Indy ladder. Pigot has recorded four poles, eight podiums, and four wins. The rookie currently sits second in the championship standings by only six points.

“I’m very excited to get to Mazda Raceway,” said Pigot. “It’s a track I’ve always wanted to race at. It’s going to be a tough weekend, but I’m confident we will have a great shot at the championship. Overall it’s been a great season for me and Juncos Racing. It would be very special to win this championship at Mazda Raceway as the Indy Lights Mazda Scholarship driver. We’ll be doing everything we can to achieve that.”

American Kyle Kaiser, driver of the #18 InterVision/NetApp/JuniperNetworks car, is set to make his final run in his rookie Indy Lights season in front of his hometown crowd. Kaiser has recorded one Top-3 and six Top-5 finishes this season.

“Mazda Raceway has been my most anticipated track on the schedule this season since it is my home track,” said Kaiser. “This final race weekend is a great opportunity to finish out the year with a great result before heading into the off-season. The combination of Juncos’s consistent great set ups and my experience at Laguna, has me going into the weekend with high expectations. There will be a lot of focus on the battle for the championship, so my goal is to just focus on my own race and get the best finish possible.”

Team Principle, Ricardo Juncos is thrilled to be battling for their first Indy Lights championship in only their first full season in the series. Juncos believes the drive behind each individual at Juncos Racing has made this outcome possible and is confident the team will end the season on a strong note.

“Our 2015 Indy Lights season has been a dream come true,” said Juncos. “As a rookie team with two rookie drivers the results have been unbelievable, I have to contribute it to the professionalism and passion that everyone on our team possesses. We added a lot of new faces to our organization and everyone has truly flourished. We are making our final push to claim our first Indy Lights championship, it’s just icing on the cake that we are able to compete for the championship in our first full season. Every single person on the team has been working flat out to bring the best possible package to Laguna.”
