Chip Ganassi Racing Tag

By David Morgan, NASCAR Editor It’s been an up and down few days for Kyle Larson and his Chip Ganassi Racing team at Dover, but when the checkered flag flew on Sunday, Larson brought home a top-10 despite all of the setbacks. On Friday, Larson rocketed to the pole with a lap of 22.770 seconds, 158.103 mph, and things were looking up for the No. 42 team heading into race day. However, multiple pre-race inspection failures would put the team behind the eight-ball to start the race. Due to theRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer In a surprising move, Jamie McMurray took a swipe at Kyle Larson, his Chip Ganassi Racing teammate, under caution. Despite the on-track disagreement, Larson still managed to finish inside the top-10 in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway. With just over 30 laps to go, contact between Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, and McMurray resulted in a chaotic chain of events. McMurray’s No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ended up with a soft left rear tire, while Newman’s No. 31 Chevrolet had a punctured radiator.Read More

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series veteran was just 0.006 seconds faster than the No. 78 Auto-Owners Insurance Toyota Camry of 2017 Champion Martin Truex Jr., who starts deep in the field for Friday’s race. Larson’s speed at Bristol is expectedRead More

By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer BRISTOL, Tenn. – Although he has yet to win in the new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, Kyle Larson believes his team is heading in the right direction. The 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season marks the first for the Camaro ZL1, which has only gone to victory lane in the Daytona 500 with Austin Dillon. Since then Larson’s No. 42 McDonald’s team has been the class of the Chevrolet camp. In seven races this season, Larson has two top-five and three top-10 finishes, including aRead More
By David Morgan, NASCAR Editor FORT WORTH, Texas – In Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, blown tires became public enemy No. 1 for two drivers that were among the favorites, Martin Truex, Jr. and Kyle Larson. When it comes to 1.5-mile tracks, Truex, Jr. had been one of the most consistent over the past year and a half, not finishing outside the top-10 since the 2016 season finale. Unfortunately for Truex and Furniture Row Racing, that streak would come to an end at Texas as heRead More
By Josh Farmer, Contributing Writer Ryan Hunter-Reay along with Wayne Taylor Racing IMSA regulars Renger Van Der Zande and Jordan Taylor persevered through issues to lead the Verizon IndyCar Series contingent at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. The 2012 Verizon IndyCar Series champion took the wheel of the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R just before the four-hour mark as Taylor brought the car in with overheating issues which lowered them from second to seventh. Hunter-Reay remained steadily in seventh throughout his stint before turning the car over toRead More

Starting with the August 2016 race at Michigan, Larson and his No. 42 team have been unstoppable, winning the last four races on tracks two miles in length, including a win in last year’s Auto Club 400 and a sweep of both Michigan races inRead More
