Manor Marussia F1 Team reserve driver Fabio Leimer made his long-awaited Formula One debut in FP1 for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The 2013 GP2 Series champion timed the MR03B chassis in at 1:30.631 in the MR03B, nearly a full second behind teammate Will Stevens. Bob Bell, former technical director for the Mercedes F1 team, has joined the Silverstone-based outfit as a technical consultant. Bell, a former team principal with the Renault F1 team, has had various other engineering roles at Benetton, Jordan and McLaren. Visionary French designer Nicolas Perrin has joined Manor F1 in a big move that is set to bolster F1’s likable Lazarus. Perrin has previously worked for Williams as recently as 2010 and before that had stints with Reynard and French stalwarts; Pescarolo and Courage.
