Allgaier Excited to Compete for Xfinity Dash 4 Cash at Richmond

By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer

Another Xfinity Dash 4 Cash race means another chance at $100,000 for Justin Allgaier.  The JR Motorsports driver took home the Dash 4 Cash prize at Richmond Raceway last year. The team makes up half of the Dash 4 Cash competitors in the ToyotaCare 250 as Allgaier is joined by Elliott Sadler in the four-driver race within a race.

Allgaier has 14 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the 0.75-mile short track. He has three top fives and six top-10s. Three of those top-10s have come in Allgaier’s last three starts at Richmond.

“I’m excited to be heading back to Richmond and competing for the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash again,” Allgaier said. “Last year was tough because while it was awesome to get to hold that $100,000 check, that race was heartbreaking for our team because we felt like we had the best car and unfortunately had to settle for second. But this is a new year and we have another opportunity to accomplish that goal of winning the race plus getting that bonus. There’s not a doubt in my mind that this Hellmann’s Real Ketchup team can get that done.”

Allgaier enters Richmond fourth in the Championship Points Standings, 21-points behind Sadler. JR Motorsports makes up three of the top-four Championship positions with Sadler, Tyler Reddick, and Allgaier first, third, and fourth in the standings respectively. Allgaier is one of just four full-time Xfinity Series competitors who have earned Playoff Points, and leads the series in laps led (by series regulars) with 137 laps in front so far this season.

So far this season, Allgaier has four top-five and five-top 10 finishes. Three of those top-fives were runner-up finishes, including this past weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. Allgaier also earned the pole position at ISM Raceway earlier this season.

Now Allgaier will attempt to repeat his Xfinity Dash 4 Cash win at Richmond on Friday night.
