Daly Driver: Catching Back Up

By Conor Daly, Verizon IndyCar Series Driver It’s been a while since my last blog and that’s because it’s been crazy busy! It’s been non-stop since the start of May, but we finally had a little breathing room this past week. I think I’ve gone through every emotion since the start of May, I had the joy of leading my first laps at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Grand Prix, I suffered a huge disappointment after spinning out of the Indy 500, I then experienced the best weekend ofRead More

By Josh Farmer, IndyCar Reporter Josef Newgarden has been cleared to practice in tomorrow’s opening session for this weekend’s Kohler Grand Prix at Road America. The Ed Carpenter Racing driver will take part in the one hour, 15 minute session tomorrow and will then be evaluated by the INDYCAR medical staff to determine whether or not he will be cleared to race. If Newgarden is not cleared to race, ECR has driver JR Hildebrand on standby if needed to drive to No. 21 Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka Chevrolet. Newgarden sufferedRead More
By David Morgan, NASCAR Contributor After an off weekend for Father’s Day, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series gets back to business this weekend as they get set to take on the first of two road course races on the 2016 schedule. Before the focus turns to Sunday’s Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway, we’ll take a step back in the past for this week’s “Throwback Thursday Theater” to the 1995 Save Mart Supermarkets 300 and the lone road course win for a legend. Taking place on the track’s originalRead More
By Joey Barnes, Editor-in-Chief Fernando Alonso senses the end of his Formula 1 career is near and believes that the next challenge could include the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Spaniard came into F1 at 20-years-old with Minardi in 2001 and has since enjoyed two championships, 32 wins and 97 podiums in 260 starts. However, the uphill battle since reuniting McLaren has been far greater than expected and rumors of retirement have run rampant despite a contract that isn’t set to expire until the end of the 2017 season.Read More
By Toby Christie, NASCAR Editor No team has been stronger in 2016 than the Joe Gibbs Racing stable. Led by reigning champion, Kyle Busch, the team sports seven victories through the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ first 15 races of the year. However the team has a huge problem shaping, and it’s one that many other teams probably wish they had to deal with — they have too many talented drivers, and not enough cars to put them in. Currently the Sprint Cup Series team is packed-full with Busch, Carl Edwards, DennyRead More
By Seth Eggert, NASCAR Writer The last time the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visited Gateway Motorsports Park, Cole Custer took home the victory. Custer beat out Spencer Gallagher for the victory last year. There are no NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars entered into this weekend’s Truck Series race. However, NASCAR Xfinity Series regular Erik Jones will be in the field. In last year’s race Jones started on the pole and led 84 laps before an electrical issue ended his day with 15 laps to go. Custer is the onlyRead More

By David Morgan, NASCAR Contributor As the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series gets back to work after taking Father’s Day weekend off, they head to the west coast for the first road course race of the season, the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. The 1.990 mile Sonoma Raceway, a 12 turn technical road course situated about 30 miles north of San Francisco, has played host to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series since 1989 and has gone through a series of changes since opening its doors 27 years ago. By Frank Santoroski, Staff Writer When the Verizon IndyCar series announced Watkins Glen International as a replacement venue for the failed Boston Grand Prix, there was immediately speculation as to what type of speeds we might see. The iconic 3.4 mile road course was recently repaved and now offers an ultra-smooth driving surface. Five drivers took to the track, located in upstate New York, participating in a test session to supply Firestone technicians with data to allow for tire compound selection.  During the five-hour session, all five drivers posted timesRead More
