After a few weeks off, Jeffrey Earnhardt and iK9 have announced their remaining schedule for the 2019 season.
Earnhardt has six NASCAR Xfinity Series races beginning with the B&L Transport 170 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in the No. 18 Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing. He will also compete at Road America, ISM Raceway, and Homestead-Miami Speedway for JGR.
Kyle Busch will have iK9 as the primary sponsor at Watkins Glen International in August. This will be iK9’s return to JGR after briefly disappearing from the team’s hauler and website last month.
“I’m really excited to get back in the iK9 Toyota Supra at Mid-Ohio and imagine Kyle’s gonna give us a shot at back to back trips to victory lane,” said Earnhardt.
The 30-year-old’s two other Xfinity starts at Darlington Raceway and Bristol Motor Speedway will be with XCI Racing. The team will also compete with Earnhardt in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. XCI Racing has a technical alliance with JGR.
In seven Xfinity starts this season Earnhardt has one top-five and three top-10 finishes. His third-place at Charlotte Motor Speedway came as he and iK9 honored fallen Mooresville Police Department K9 Officer and iK9 alum Jordan Sheldon.
“Our goal remains getting the checkered in 2019 and I’m really pleased to give our fans a chance to see that happen this season,” Earnhardt explained. “We also have some cool contests that will include a VIP trip for two to an upcoming race so check our social media for updates.”
The grandson of Superspeedway ace Dale Earnhardt Sr., Earnhardt competed in the Cup race at Talladega earlier this season with XCI Racing. He was swept up in the ‘big one’ on the final lap, relegating him to a 22nd-place finish.
