Short track racing standout Josh Berry will make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut at Salem Speedway. Berry will join Chad Bryant Racing for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 at the 0.555-mile high-banked oval. He will pilot the No. 22 Big Tine Ford Fusion for CBR.
Berry has made seven starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, five with JR Motorsports. He has two top-10 finishes with a best finish, seventh, at Richmond Raceway.
More recently, Berry has been competing full-time in the CARS Response Energy Late Model Stock Tour. In just 28 starts, he’s earned 12 victories, 21 top-fives, 24 top-10s, and nine pole positions. Berry won the Championship in his first full season in the series. He also has the 2012 Motor Mile Speedway, and 2014 Hickory Motor Speedway track championship on his resume.
“It’s an interesting place,” said Berry. “It’s wild, definitely a challenge and will be a tough place to race. Tire management is going to be key there, and that might benefit me in that I do that every week in my Late Model with the CARS Tour. It’s a great opportunity for me to try the ARCA Racing Series, which has always been very competitive. I’m looking forward to the weekend with Chad and the rest of the CBR team.”
Chad Bryant Racing has been a staple in the ARCA Racing Series. Formerly Cunningham Motorsports, the team that won the 2016 Championship with Chase Briscoe was bought by long-time crew Chad Bryant. The team has 40 victories since it formed in 1997.
“Josh brings a ton of experience to our team this weekend, and has an excellent chance to do very well,” said Bryant. “I’ve known Josh for quite some time and am glad to finally have the opportunity to put him one of our cars with a sponsor that has meant a lot to our team in Big Tine. I can’t wait for the green flag on Sunday.”
Berry recently participated in a test at the half-mile track to get prepared for his debut on Sunday, April 22.
