Veteran NASCAR driver DJ Kennington will return to Premium Motorsports for two upcoming races. The NASCAR Pinty’s Series regular will compete in one NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and one Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race for the Jay-Robinson owned team.

The two-time NASCAR Pinty’s Series Champion will drive the No. 49 APC Chevrolet Silverado at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. He has one victory at the 2.459-mile track in the Pinty’s Series in 2011.

Kennington has two previous starts in the Chevrolet Silverado 250. In both races, the St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada native finished a career-best 14th. The race on Sunday, August 26, will be Kennington’s first Truck Series start of 2018 and his 70th-career start across NASCAR’s three National Series.

“I’m really excited to get in the truck at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park,” Kennington said. “I’m looking to score a solid finish for Premium Motorsports and APC. We have been growing our relationship with APC for quite some time now and I couldn’t be more pleased with the way things have developed. I’m also excited for the Cup race in Phoenix. ISM Raceway is a fun track to drive and I know we will have a successful run there.”

Kennington will again return to the team at ISM Raceway for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Can-Am 500 Playoff Race. The 41-year-old driver made his Premier Series debut at the 1.0-mile track in 2016. In Kennington’s two starts at the track, he has a best finish of 26th.

Nine races into the Pinty’s Series season, Kennington sits fifth in the Championship Points Standings, 27-Points behind Points Leader L.P. Dumoulin. His next race in the Series, Total Energy 200, will also be on Sunday, August 26, at the Bowmanville, Ontario track.
