Bill McAnally Racing will once again field an entry in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series for Derek Kraus. The 17-year-old will compete in four races for the West Coast-based team.
Kraus will make his 2019 Truck Series debut in the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at Martinsville Speedway in the No. 19 ENEOS Motor Oil / NAPA Filters Toyota Tundra. He will then return at Dover International Speedway on May 3, Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sept. 13, after he turns 18 on September 1, and ISM Raceway Nov. 8.
Kraus made his Truck Series debut last year at ISM Raceway starting and finishing eighth.
Prior to Kraus’ debut last season, BMR last fielded trucks for Brendan Gaughan in 2000 and 2001. In nine total starts in the Truck Series, the team has one top-five with Gaughan. The organization also has seven titles in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West division.
ENEOS Motor Oil is a new sponsor to BMR. The company joined the team to sponsor Brittney Zamora’s Toyota Camry in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West this season.
In 34 combined starts between the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West, Kraus has six victories including this year’s East series opener. In the West division where the Stratford, WI native has competed full-time, he has 17 top-five and 21 top-10 finishes. Kraus also has six pole positions. He finished third in the West division’s championship points standings.
Despite being only 17-years-old, Kraus has put together an impressive resume. He won the Midwest Truck Series Championship in 2015 at the age of 14. In 2016 Kraus finished fourth in the ARCA MidWest Tour with one victory, three top-five and four top-10 finishes a year prior to moving to the K&N Pro Series.
