DiBenedetto Representing Reddit During NASCAR All-Star Race Weekend

In 2016, Matt DiBenedetto just missed earning a spot in the NASCAR All-Star race after running a social media campaign that even included changing his name on the car to ‘DiBurrito.’ This year, DiBenedetto will once again have a social media presence as he will represent Reddit on the Go Fas Racing No. 32 Ford Fusion.

DiBenedetto has been an active Reddit user, participating in ‘Ask Me Anything’ question and answer sessions, and recently explained the fun he has had on Reddit.

“I’ve really gotten to know the Reddit community over the last couple years,” said DiBenedetto. “I first got wind of the site when Josh Wise ran the paint scheme a few years ago, and since then have been browsing the site and speaking with users pretty regularly. I’ve found that not only do they have a great understanding of the sport and its’ news, but they also have a great sense of humor about much of it. It’s a lot of fun to go on there and just talk with them about the sport.”

DiBenedetto has 78 career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts with a best finish of sixth at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2016. He also earned the first ever Top 10 for Go Fas Racing, a ninth place finish, in the 2017 Daytona 500.

DiBenedetto also has 68 career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts where he has two Top 10s. He also has 20 NASCAR K&N Pro East Series starts in which he has three victories, 11 top fives, 14 Top 10s, and four pole positions.

Team owner Archie St. Hilaire explained that the team wanted to give back to community that supports the team and their driver.

“Matt first approached us earlier this year about doing something like this,” Hilaire said. “We’re definitely familiar with the site and most of our team has been on quite actively. We know that Matt has a lot of fans and friends on Reddit and we really wanted to give back to the community that has supported his career in big moments like these.”

With two weeks until the Monster Energy Open at Charlotte Motor Speedway, DiBenedetto, St. Hilaire, and the Go Fas Racing team will attempt to earn enough fan votes while preparing their car for the race.
