Sports car racing veteran Max Tullman will be competing in more stockcar races this season. The 20-year-old will compete in six ARCA Racing Series events for Mason Mitchell Motorsports after leading 10 laps and finishing sixth at Daytona International Speedway.
Tullman’s next race will be the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway. He will also compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Pocono Raceway, Michigan International Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway, and Iowa Speedway.
On top of the pit box for Tullman will be Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion crew chief Doug Richert. Tyler Green, who spotted for Tullman at Daytona and guided Mason Mitchell Motorsports to a victory at Talladega in 2016 will continue to be Tullman’s eyes in the sky.
“I’m very thankful for this opportunity to compete in more ARCA races with Mason Mitchell Motorsports,” said Tullman, a native of Chester Springs, Pa. “We couldn’t have asked for a more productive race with Mason Mitchell Motorsports at Daytona. Mason gave us the tools we needed to be competitive and Doug did an excellent job with the car throughout the race weekend that kept us in the hunt for a competitive finish.”
Tullman’s background in racing has been in sports cars. He has been competing in the Porsche GT3 Cup Series since the 2015 season. Tullman has also made starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series for Jefferson Pitts Racing.
“I still have a lot to learn, but I can’t wait to get back in an ARCA car,” added Tullman.
“Mason’s operation is second-to-none as far as preparation and execution. I’ve been very fortunate to be surrounded by good people who want to see the best for me and our partners and I hope we’re able to improve on our Daytona effort and put ourselves in Victory Lane.”
In the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, Tullman has four starts, three in the West, and one in the East. In those four starts, he has earned three top-10 finishes.
“Max exceeded everyone’s expectations at Daytona with his performance,” added Mason Mitchell, who serves as one of the series’ youngest team owners. “We are extremely happy to have him sign on with us for these six races. We are going to continue to build fast race cars for Max and have great performances each week.”
Sponsorship for Tullman will be announced later. In the meantime, Tullman, Richert, and the entire Mason Mitchell Motorsports team will prepare for their next race together on April 27 at Talladega Superspeedway.
