The good news continues for Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Roush Fenway Racing as NOS Energy Drink returns to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series team.
Less than a week after Stenhouse earned his first top-five finish on an intermediate track in the Coca-Cola 600, he reunites in NASCAR with the high-performance energy drink company that sponsors his World of Outlaws Sprint Car team.
NOS Energy Drink will make its return to Stenhouse’s No. 17 Ford Mustang in the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 9.
NOS Energy Drink first supported Stenhouse in 2012 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The company last sponsored him in the 2015 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The following season, NOS moved to Joe Gibbs Racing’s Xfinity team and remained there until the end of 2018 season.
“I’m excited to have NOS Energy back on our No. 17 Ford,” Stenhouse said. “They have been a great supporter and partner of mine since 2012 on and off the track. Their support throughout the entire racing community shows their dedication and passion to all forms of motorsports. It’s great to have them back in the Cup Series.”
Since NOS Energy Drink left Roush Fenway Racing in 2015, Stenhouse earned his first career Cup Series victories at Talladega Superspeedway and Daytona International Speedway. Although the team has downsized from three cars to two, and cut their Xfinity program, performance in recent weeks has improved.
Stenhouse and his teammate Ryan Newman, have run up front in recent weeks. Together, they have earned five top-10 finishes in 26 combined starts. Roush Fenway only had seven top-10 finishes all last season.
“Ricky, NASCAR and NOS Energy have become synonymous with one another and we couldn’t be more pleased about it,” said Lauren Albano – Marketing Director, NOS Energy. “Ricky is a proven winner and NOS Energy is high performance drink that completely mirrors the high banks, high horsepower world of NASCAR.
“We’re all in it to win it. A great driver, team and sport. All of us at NOS Energy are very confident we’re going to reach for a higher gear this summer – and way beyond.”
In total, NOS Energy Drink has been the primary sponsor for 21 NASCAR Xfinity Series victories, all with Kyle Busch at JGR. The company has never been to victory lane as a primary in the Cup Series.
