After spending much of 2018 on the sidelines, Brennan Poole will run full-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series in 2019 with On Point Motorsports.
Poole will drive the No. 30 Toyota Tundra for the team. On Point Motorsports made its’ Truck Series debut last season at Bristol Motor Speedway with Scott Lagasse, Jr. In five races, the team earned one top-10 finish with Austin Theriault at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Poole ran two Truck races in 2018, both with NextGen Motorsports. He finished 15th at Texas Motor Speedway and 19th at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“I am extremely excited about driving for On Point Motorsports this season,” stated Poole. “From the very first moment I set foot in the On Point Motorsports facility, I continue to be so impressed with what the team has put together for the 2019 season. We have a great opportunity to surprise a lot of people and we are ready to go racing.”
Poole has 83 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts. He earned his best career finish, second, at Kentucky Speedway in 2017. In total, Poole earned eight top-five and 36 top-10 finishes. His only pole position came in the July race at Daytona International Speedway in 2017. Poole narrowly missed making the Championship Four in the 2017 playoffs.
“We have put a tremendous amount of sweat and tears into the development of On Point Motorsports and the results show when a driver of the caliber of Brennan Poole is excited about being a part of this,” stated Steven Lane, manager of On Point Motorsports. We have worked very hard as an organization to build this program and we are very excited to welcome a driver with the talents of Brennan to our team. We definitely have some exciting times ahead for all of us.”
On Point Motorsports is not only entering its’ first full-time season in the Truck Series but will also compete part-time in the ARCA Racing Series with the No. 29 Toyota Camry. Derrick Lancaster will drive the No. 29 Toyota in the Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona International Speedway.
“I can’t wait to get down to Daytona to start off this season,” said Poole. “Everyone here at On Point is moving in the right direction and we have high expectations for the 2019 season. I feel confident in the program the team has put together and we have some exciting announcements coming up as we head into the beginning of the season.”
