Previewing the NASCAR CWTS Drivin’ for Linemen 200 at Gateway

The last time the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visited Gateway Motorsports Park, Christopher Bell took home the victory in thrilling fashion. Bell beat Ben Rhodes by 0.275 seconds to take the victory.

However, the most memorable part of last year’s race might a ‘fight’ between Spencer Gallagher and John Wes Townley. The two drivers came to ‘blows’ after Gallagher made contact with Townley. Townley retaliated, destroying both trucks. The two then fought on track with the field circulating under caution.

Bell is the only former winner in the Truck Series at Gateway in the field this weekend.

NASCAR Xfinity Series regular Ross Chastain is entered in the race.

Truck Series Championship

Christopher Bell, Kaz Grala, Ryan Truex, Matt Crafton, and Johnny Sauter are the only drivers with Playoff points. Bell has 13 Playoff Points, with Sauter having nine, Grala has five, while Crafton and Truex have one each.

At Gateway, the first stage ends on lap 35, the second stage on lap 70, and the final stage on lap 160.

What to Watch For

There are several storylines going into this weekend’s race to watch for:

• Bryce Napier will be in the No. 10 ASAP Appliance Service Chevrolet Silverado for Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing.
• Ryan Truex will have Diebergs as the primary sponsor for his No. 16 Hattori Racing Enterprises Toyota Tundra.
• Chase Briscoe will have Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation as the primary sponsor of his No. 29 Ford F-150 for Brad Keselowski Racing.
• Todd Gilliland will be in the No. 51 Pedigree Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
• Stewart Friesen’s Halmar-Friesen Racing will skip the races Gateway and Iowa with the aim of returning a Kentucky Speedway,
• Ross Chastain will be in the No. 66 Chevrolet Silverado for Bolen Motorsports.
• Clay Greenfield returns in the No. 68 1-800PAVEMENT Chevrolet Silverado.
• Todd Peck will be in the No. 83 Chevrolet Silverado for Copp Motorsports
• Timothy Peters returns in the No. 99 Metabo Chevrolet Silverado for MDM Motorsports.
