For the first time since last season, Ryan Truex will compete in back-to-back races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
The Mayetta, NJ native will make his 75th career Xfinity start in the JR Motorsports No. 8 Bar Harbor Chevrolet Camaro SS. Truex enters Roxor 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after an eighth-place run at Kentucky Speedway.
“I’m really happy to be running this No. 8 Chevrolet in back-to-back weekends for JRM,” Truex explained. “I feel like Taylor (Moyer, crew chief) and I have a good baseline to build off of after last weekend in Kentucky and I am confident that we can back up that top-10 run with an even stronger result on Saturday.”
Truex has two starts in the Xfinity Series at the Loudon, N.H. track. His best finish, 10th, came in 2012 during his tenure with Joe Gibbs Racing. JRM has four top-five and 16 top-10s at NHMS in 30 combined Xfinity starts.
The Taylor Moyer-led No. 8 ‘All-Star’ car has earned four top-five and 12 top-10 finishes in 17 races this season. Truex is one of four drivers that have finished in the top-10 in all of their starts in the JRM ‘All-Star’ car. His second-place finish at ISM Raceway remains the best finish for the ‘All-Star’ car this season.
Jeb Burton, Chase Elliott, and Ryan Preece also have finished all of their Xfinity starts this season inside the top-10.
In the 27-year-old’s 74 previous starts, he has four top-five and 22 top-10 finishes. Truex’s best finish, second (twice), came with JRM earlier this season and Dover International Speedway with JGR in 2012. His only pole position also came at Dover in 2012.
