Schrader Returns to the Truck Series for Eldora

By Seth Eggert, NASCAR Writer

For the fifth straight year, Ken Schrader will be competing in the Aspen Dental 150 at Eldora Speedway. Schrader expressed interest in the race in an interview, and a phone call later, he had a ride in the No. 66 Chevrolet Silverado for Bolen Motorsports.

In the four previous NASCAR Camping World Trucks Series starts at the lone dirt track on the schedule, Schrader has a best finish of fourth in 2014. He has never finished outside the Top 15. Schrader also has the distinction of holding the track record and earning the pole in the Inaugural Truck race at Eldora.

Schrader is thrilled to once again be competing in the Truck Series at Eldora,

“We are thrilled to be running Eldora again this season. It is truly a classic event and I enjoy every aspect of the race – the fans’ excitement, the level of competition and the fun of running at this iconic track. Driving the Bolen Motorsports Silverado will be a blast. As a track owner myself, I see and appreciate what Tony Stewart and his team have done to create such a Midsummer Classic!”

Bolen Motorsports team owner Jeff Bolen was quick to point to Schrader’s stats at the half-mile dirt track,

“With Ken’s history on dirt and success at Eldora Speedway, we knew that he would give our team a great chance to win,” Bolen said. “This is our team’s second full season of competition and having Schrader in the truck at Eldora will help continue the successes so far.”

Schrader competed in all eight runnings of the Prelude to the Dream dirt Late Model race. In the Prelude he earned five Top 10 finishes. Schrader also has two USAC midget victories, one USAC Silver Crown victory, and three UMP Modified wins. These stats make him a stout competitor heading into the July 19 race.

Bolen Motorsports crew chief Paul Clapprood stated,

“When it comes to dirt and putting a driver behind the wheel with experience, you can’t beat this opportunity with Schrader,” said Clapprood.

With this being the first time that Clapprood and Schrader will work together, they will look to have a successful run with the No. 66 Midwest Logistic Systems / K&L Ready Mix Chevrolet Silverado.
