Byron held off Cole Custer, Cameron Hayley, Ben Rhodes, and Tyler Reddick in a two-lap shootout by 0.431 seconds to take the victory. In the race, Hornish lost the championship by three points to Austin Dillon. Four years later, Hornish will return to Team Penske for at least three NASCAR Xfinity Series races.
