By David Morgan, Associate Editor FORT WORTH, Texas – Stewart Friesen has been knocking on the door of his first win in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series, but for one reason or another, the driver of the No. 52 Halmar Friesen Racing Chevrolet hasn’t been able to break though and end the day in Victory Lane. After several near-misses over the last year, Friesen returns to Texas Motor Speedway for Friday night’s SpeedyCash.com 400 looking to best his 2018 runner-up finish at the track by one position. “We probably couldRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor Two weeks removed from his first start of the season in the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500, Conor Daly will get the chance to climb behind the wheel once more as he takes the reins of the No. 59 Gallagher Carlin Chevrolet in the DXC Technology 600 at Texas Motor Speedway. The opportunity with Carlin comes on the heels of Daly’s 10th place result at Indianapolis with Andretti Autosport and as Max Chilton, who normally drives the No. 59 entry elected not to runRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor Eastern Pennsylvania comes calling this weekend as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series leaves the comfort of home in Charlotte for Pocono Raceway and Sunday’s running of the Pocono 400. With only three turns, instead of the four turns at all other ovals on the circuit, Pocono is definitely one of the most unique tracks on the schedule. The three turns all have differing banking with Turn 1 and its 14-degree banking modeled after the now-defunct Trenton Speedway, Turn 2 and its nine-degree banking modeledRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor Cars hurtling into Turn 1 at 240 mph, grandstands packed with upwards of 300,000 people, the pomp and circumstance of the pre-race festivities. A race that can turn an average driver into a superstar and boost the career of a driver that is already a superstar into the stratosphere. I had heard the stories about how magical race day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was and how much it means to everyone involved, but for years, the Indianapolis 500 has been an event that I tookRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor INDIANAPOLIS – Track position is the name of the game when it comes to racing at Indianapolis, but even starting at a deficit in the track position department couldn’t deter James Hinchcliffe from making a run through the field to finish just outside the top-10. After driving his way into the 33-car field in last Sunday’s Last Row Shootout, the driver of the No. 5 Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda started the day in 32nd, but quickly jumped into the top-25 before climbing even furtherRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor INDIANAPOLIS – Alexander Rossi was a man on a mission in Sunday’s 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500, but even a passionate drive wasn’t enough to overcome the odds and score a second victory in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” The 27-year old has shown grit and determination at Indianapolis in the past, take last year’s thrilling run for example, but this time around a little bit of anger looked to be the fuel that would propel him back to Victory Lane at Indianapolis. Ultimately,Read More

Heading into Sunday’s 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500, Graham Rahal is looking to add his name to the list of drivers that have conquered the legendary speedway. Should Rahal be able to come out on top, he will join his father as champion of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” The 30-year old Columbus, Ohio native has come close in theRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor INDIANAPOLIS – Friday marked the final time the NTT IndyCar Series teams and drivers would have the chance to dial in their cars for the Indianapolis 500 during Carb Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and it was a familiar face at the top of the pylon when all was said and done. Tony Kanaan, driver of the No. 14 ABC Supply AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet and the 2013 winner of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, posted a lap of 39.908 seconds, 225.517 mph to leadRead More

After finishing fifth in the Indianapolis Grand Prix to kick off the month, the driver of the No. 21 Chevrolet backed it up by setting the fastest time in the first day of Indianapolis 500 qualifications, giving him an added confidenceRead More
By David Morgan, Associate Editor The weekend before Memorial Day marks the beginning of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series traditional two-week stop at NASCAR’s home base of Charlotte, North Carolina and the 1.5-mile quad oval that is Charlotte Motor Speedway. First up on the two-week stopover in the Queen City is the Monster Energy All-Star Race, a non-points event that has served up more than its fair share of exciting moments in its 34-year history. What is now the All-Star Race began as “The Winston” in 1985 and wasRead More
