By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Anytime a driver and a team like Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace, Jr. and Richard Petty Motorsports make a new partnership, confidence, momentum, and optimism is boosted. The sponsorship from World Wide Technology (WWT) may be only six races, but the partnership is much more than that. WWT is providing much more than just sponsorship dollars to RPM. The company will provide the team analytics, data, data scientists, and technology solutions. As the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series has evolved over the years, data and technology haveRead More

By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer With the carnage in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, Kevin Harvick was just happy to finish unscathed. Harvick finished just inside the top-five in his No. 4 Busch Beer Flannel Ford Fusion. Over the course of the last run, Harvick held course, following fellow Ford Performance drivers Joey Logano, Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Kurt Busch, and ahead of Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. In a strategy seen repeatedly in recent years, nearly all of the Fords worked together to ensure that one would win. In the finalRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Handling and patience was key in the GEICO 500, but it left many, including Chase Elliott without enough time to make a run at the win. Elliott finished inside the top-five at Talladega Superspeedway for the first time since 2016 after staying ahead of the carnage. Elliott’s No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ran inside the top-five for much of the final run to the finish. He tried to work both the inside and outside lines to find the energy to move forward. Elliott workedRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Talladega Superspeedway proved to be unpredictable for the NASCAR Xfinity Series once again. Underdog driver Ryan Sieg powered to a top-10 finish in the Sparks Energy 300. Sieg had a little luck and the right strategy to finish sixth for his family-owned RSS Racing team. Sieg’s No. 39 Alabama Soda & Abrasion Repairs Chevrolet Camaro SS was one of many one lap down before the final caution. When race leader Justin Allgaier ran out of fuel, Sieg and six others took the wave around toRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Journeyman driver Josh Williams had an eventful race at Talladega Superspeedway. The ARCA Racing Series race was the first of the season for Williams. Despite getting caught in a late race incident, he still managed to score a top-five finish for Our Motorsports. Williams’ No. 6 Star Brite-Star Tron Chevrolet SS was up front late in the 200-mile race. On one of the overtime attempts, contact sent Riley Herbst into the outside wall. Herbst wiped out Sean Corr, as Williams and others took evasive action.Read More

The 17-year-old has been competing part-time in the ARCA Racing Series, where he won for the first time in dramatic fashion at Salem Speedway. Eckes will drive the No. 46 Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Iowa Speedway on June 16. He will return to the truck at Gateway Motorsports Park on June 23, and ISM Raceway on November 9. Eckes will also compete atRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer It’s the ninth race of the season and only two full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series regulars has scored a victory. The Xfinity Series returns to Talladega Superspeedway for the Sparkes Energy 300. The Xfinity Dash 4 Cash, zero Cup drivers (in the field), and stage racing are just some of the storylines heading into the eighth race of the season. Coverage for the Sparks Energy 300 is scheduled to start Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET. Talladega has hosted the ninth race of the season since theRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Over the years, the ARCA Racing Series has been a place for drivers to make their first starts in restrictor plate racing. Blaine Perkins will become the latest to do so in the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM). Perkins will drive the No. 98 Auto Parkit / Four Star Fruit Chevrolet SS at the 2.66-mile track. Perkins participated in open test sessions at both Daytona International Speedway and Talladega to prepare for his first restrictor plate race. The 18-year-oldRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer With no Cup drivers in the field, the NASCAR Xfinity Series Sparks Energy 300 at Talladega Superspeedway provides an opportunity for many. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Jennifer Jo Cobb, will be just one of many taking a chance in the unpredictable restrictor plate race. Cobb will pilot the No. 55 Toyota Camry for JP Motorsports, replacing Stephen Leicht. Cobb has had an up and down year to date. At Daytona, her truck was completely destroyed in a multi-truck pile-up. Cobb also made herRead More
