By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer The Stratosphere 200 looked like it was going to be a battle between Brett Moffitt and Kyle Busch, until lapped traffic changed that. In two separate incidents, lapped traffic altered the outcome of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, costing Moffitt, leaving him in third, and allowing Busch to finally win at his home track, Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In the final run to the finish, Moffitt, Johnny Sauter, and Grant Enfinger were chasing Busch for the lead. Moffitt’s No. 16 AISIN Group ToyotaRead More

By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Kyle Busch has won just about everywhere and in everything. However, he has never won in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at his home track, Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Busch’s only start at the 1.5-mile tri-oval came in 2001 while driving for Roush Racing at the age of 16. The 2015 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion will be running all three races in the Las Vegas triple header. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Stratosphere 200 on Friday night, he will beRead More

By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Teams in all three of NASCAR’s National Series were penalized following the race weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Lug nuts were the main culprit, accounting for three of the four penalties that NASCAR issued on Wednesday. Following the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, the race winning car of Kevin Harvick was found to have an improperly installed lug nut. Harvick’s Stewart-Haas Racing crew chief Rodney Childers was fined $10,000 as a result. The same lug nut issue was found afterRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer  With more and more sports embracing technology and streaming services, is NASCAR missing out on this growing trend? While NASCAR does stream its National Series races on the Fox Sports Go app, the NBC Sports app, and some of the regional races on FansChoice.tv, there are other streaming options the sanctioning body could be looking into. Just by asking race fans to get some feedback, I’ve come up with two different options for NASCAR to join the streaming trend. Once again, I don’t know theRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 seemed to a return to form for Clint Bowyer. Bowyer ran up front for much of the 500-mile race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He finished third, a part of a Ford Performance sweep of the top three finishing positions in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. In the final 25-lap run to the finish, Bowyer restarted inside the top-five. His No. 14 Haas Automation Ford Fusion held station on the old, worn-out track surface. Bowyer defended against charges fromRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer Multiple obstacles couldn’t keep Ben Rhodes from scoring his second consecutive fourth-place finish. Rhodes ran into engine trouble and a pit road penalty, but somehow managed to claw his way back into the top-five in the Active Pest Control 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. On the final restart, Rhodes’s No. 41 Alpha Energy Solutions Ford F-150 jumped into the chaotic scramble. As eventual race winner Brett Moffitt drove away, Rhodes was mired in the middle of a three-wide battle. Luckily, he was able to wrestleRead More
By Seth Eggert, Staff Writer No one passed more cars than John Hunter Nemechek in the Rinnai 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Nemechek’s NASCAR Xfinity Series debut was an up and down day as he encountered some early troubles. He ultimately rebounded from being a lap behind the leaders to finish fourth. Nemechek fell a lap down early, after cutting a tire with seven laps left in the first stage. A strategy call by crew chief Mike Shiplett, allowed Nemechek to take the wave around in his No. 42 FireRead More

Young’s Motorsports will field a second, full-time entry in addition to Austin Hill’s No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado. Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers Austin and Ty Dillon, along with Xfinity Series’ Daniel Hemric, and Team Dillon’s development driver Tanner Thorson will pilot the No. 20 GoShare Chevrolet Silverado for a combined 17 races.
